***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Fail=pigie has lost his shadow :D
I wonder if that monkey is still in one of the tracks, i can remember seeing it in GT4 but cant recall what track it was.

trial mountain I believe? hiding in the bushes over the track after the hard right that follows the first tunnel.

GT5 had better have some nice long tunnels for some high rpm tunnel blasts!

Ok so i don't see many comments on the obvious flickering problems on the white civic both the import from gt4 and the new high poly version.

It's dire

Yes those few seconds of shadows flickering ABSOLUTELY RUINED THE ENTIRE THING AND I AM DEFINITELY NOT BUYING THE GAME NOW, WHAT HAVE THEY BEEN DOING FOR FIVE YEARS?! etc.

Well, this game is going to get ripped to shreds because of the delays and massive hype around it. I'm sure it will be fantastic though and I'll probably get it even though I'm not a big racing game fan :D

Yeah it is going to get ripped to shreds because it won't be perfect, I'm sure that there are games that have had longer timeframes of development than this but because they weren't called Gran Turismo they are immune from the absolutely massive level of criticism that this game is surely bound to receive.

Personally if something in the game is bad I will say it, if something is good I will say it. People have been gearing themselves for a game which is no less than perfect and now as a result of a few glitches here and there and the ZOMGSTANDARDCARGATE scandal a lot of people are acting as if this is a game which looks like a sack of **** and will be a massive disappointment. For those people it MAY be, but when this game comes out people should just take it for what it is and not what they thought it would or should be. Now, I'm going to fire up the PS3 and play the original Gran Turismo. :p

They do look proper ****, yes.

They may not seem much to some people, but anything like pop-up, framerate drops and dodgy shadows keep reminding you that it isn't real, and that isn't good for these kind of games.

Few seconds it's pretty much the entirety of the video and the replay

Wow well it must have been so crazily bad that I didn't even notice it apart from where the guy pointed it out, maybe because I was looking at the jaw dropping track and surroundings. Seriously, you guys complain that there's no cockpit view and then you complain about the external view too? The game will not be perfect, nothing is perfect, they didn't even want to release the game as Kaz thought it was unfinished and maybe in his eyes it would always have been unfinished such is the perfectionist that he apparently is. If you want to complain about the shadows then fine, go ahead, but there's an equal amount of good things to take from the vids I saw, if not more good things than bad. Hell, even the standard cars looked just fine apart from the lack of a cockpit viewpoint they were hardly terrible.

If I was fooled by a game into thinking I was actually driving the car then pop-up would be the least of my worries.

Personally i use neither view i use the eating tarmac view as i call it (front bumper) but it would be nice to watch the reply without these flaws

Other games with long development time would be... HL2 (generally outstanding reviews), Battlecruiser 3000AD (hilariously bad, and utterly ripped to shreds) and Duke Nukem Forever (not quite out yet, and I anticipate disaster). So GT5 could go any which way, really.
