rebooted modem 4x now, and everytime i sync with exchange i get this...

same signal to noise ration same line attuentation just higher syned speed, i cant figure out this change as its always been 16.5mb out of 20mb which is lucky.

just wondered if sky now do 24mb which would explain my sync speeds,

anyone come across this ?

it's hardly a massive increase and adsl fluctuates any way. When I was with sky it went the other way 6.5mb down to 3.5mb.
could have changed a cable in the cabinet, or less subscribers.

but its been 16mb for the past 5 months now, and they told me my max attainable was 16.5 anyway, so your saying maintainance could have been going on at the exchange ? less people connected to it ? dont get the latter as its ALWAYS been 16.4 regardless.

Yeah they must have upgraded some cabling somewhere, or you've suddenly moved closer to the exchange :p
If you give me your account number in trust I can get that knocked down when I'm at work tomorrow if you want :p

gone back to normal now haha, theres no reason for me to put a sad face as 16.3 is more than ample :) just for banter though, does anyone know when sky will actually rolll out 24mb on their max package ?

I am with Pipex and my connection speed went from a steady 7 mbits p/s to 16, at peak time the speeds seem the same as before but sunday mornings can net me 35.

700mb in 10 minutes, how i remember 20 meg taking an hour in 56k.

never, they are the same product, it's just so so few people will get over 20Mb that they advertise it as upto 20, unless they actually cap it for those that would, highly unlikely though. And yours won't be capped.

just as a sidenote, an apolagy to the mod who put this in the network and connectivity, i didnt know there was a sub forum for network related things so i just wrote in the general chit chat :)

Mine's popped up from 16.5Mbit to 20Mbit recently but was 20Mbit for a while before so if anything it has just recovered after dropping off.

Still can't get the 20Mbit score though.
