Single greatest 'fact' in the world.

a genuine FACT

Salvador Dali designed the Chupa Chups logo

how cool is it having the world most eminent surrealist design your logo?!

The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour, beating its wings 7-9 times per second (rather than 43). But please note that a 5 ounce bird cannot carry a one pound coconut.

Chicken flavoured crisps are vegetarian.
Cheese and Onion flavoured crisps are not.

The Earth weighs around 6,600,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons (5,940 billion billion metric tons)

It is estimated that millions of trees in the world are accidentally planted by squirrels who bury nuts and then forget where they hid them!

That's a pretty damn awe inspiring fact :)

Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.

The cigarette lighter was invented before the match.

The name Wendy was made up for the book "Peter Pan."

That the energy in the sunlight we see today started out in the core of the Sun 30,000 years ago - it spent most of this time passing through the dense atoms that make the sun and just 8 minutes to reach us once it had left the Sun!

100,000,000,000 tons of dynamite would have to be detonated every second to match the energy produced by the sun

The Sun releases energy at the mass-energy conversion rate of around 4.26 million metric tons per second.

Which means the Sun converts an Earth sized chunk of Mass into Energy around every 44.2 Million Years.

As the Sun is approximately 4.5 billion years old it has currently converted around 101 'Earths' into Energy.

Some people might argue that the TU-154 or 727 is faster, depends who you talk to :D

Americans will argue the 727 or 747 but they are only going by the on paper stats. VC-10 has cruised at mach 0.94 not bad for a 45 year old Aircraft.

The performance of the VC10 was such that it achieved the fastest crossing of the Atlantic - London to New York, by a jet airliner, a record still held in 2009 for a sub-sonic airliner although beaten by the supersonic Concorde.
