Orange to offer iPad on contract soon

and if you want to know immediately:

I can't get over how much these companies are ripping customers off so much. Boils my blood it does.

If you pay apple £599 for a 32GB wifi+3G ipad up front then a tenner a month for your data plan you're into them for £839. If you pay Orange £249 for the same hardware and take a £25 plan for 24 months you're into them for £849 over 24 months. That's £5 a year or 41.6p a month to avoid stumping up £609 in month one. That assumes you are an existing orange subscriber, if not it's £48 more.

Granted you could go with 3 who will be doing a similar deal soon but i'd rather not touch 3 even if it saves me £50 over two years.

Seems like competitive pricing.

You pay an extra £50 over 2 years to avoid paying up an additional £350 for the thing outright.

Seems no different to any phone contract.

Scap that it's only £382.37 for a 32GB/Wifi if you were quick enough (expired offer from a well known office product supplier who is a competitor so please don't ask). Combine that with 3rd party apps to tether to your iPhone and that's an even better deal.

I have this thread to thank for that particular bargain as without it i'd never have bothered to look :)
