GT5 Sales: How many?

I know theres a big thread about gt5 but this thread is for a speciific question:

How many 1st week sales will gt5 have.
I say 6 million plus sales.

Place your bets people.

World wide sales that is.

Is this UK or globally?

I doubt it will hit 6 million in a week, Black Ops is more mainstream and didn't that hit 2 million just in the UK combined over all formats?

I'll go 2.5 million globally as well :p
 
How many active PS3's out there? And if say even half of them eventually buy GT5 then what would that be?

Isn't there 38 million PS3's out there according to Sony, how any active as I doubt anyone knows this.

Say taking the 38 million and half of this.. 19 million? 6 million could be pushing it.

GT4 sold in excess of 11 million, and the user base for PS2 was twice this then the PS3. Also GT4 wasn't up against such stiff competition at the time..

GT5 is going up against Forza 3, many will not touch GT5 due to Forza 3, sadly fanboys will not try something else for love of what they feel is already the best..

I reckon launch would be around 1.5 million, towards the end of the year with bundle packages and Christmas looming we'll see 2 million or maybe 2.5 million.

but who the heck really knows until Sony release sales figures? and then Sony release shipped to retailer figures - not sold.
 
I'm not so sure about 6 million seeing as the release has just been sprung on people and there has been very little to no advertising which i'm quite shocked at tbh.
 
GT5 has been in production for so long people would probably have forgotten about it and wont get in the first week as they didn't know it was coming out.

guessing maybe 1.5 million

That's sony all over though. They've always shifted units by word of mouth rather then advertisment. Sony do release TV ads etc, but normally by the time you've seen the ad, you've got the product or someone has told you about it..

Sony couldn't market for toffee half the time. Sony Move was released and comments like "oh so its now out is it?" were muted around, GT5 will be the same...

I still wonder though if they delayed the 4th November (or whatever date it was) due to Kinect and launched a few weeks after as Sony know this is a killer game and will shift PS3 units... Now the dust has settled in Kinect, and in the games industry it only takes a couple of weeks for everyone to move on to the next big thing, and GT5 is now this months hot topic..

It'll sell well, in Japan it'll sell millions alone, as more buy a PS3 the title will slowly increase in sales... Gt3 I think was Sony's biggest ever selling game? Wasn't that, hang on wiki...

Yep, GT3 sold nearly 15 million copies across 145 million PS2's...Impressive.
 
i think it will sell around the 4 million mark i might be a bit optimistic but near enough everyone i know who has a ps3 has pre-ordered it so i can see it selling more than black ops :eek:
