Hi.

Slightly random thread but talking about it at work about when does it become christmas to you?

From being a kid, it always becomes 'officially' christmas when I see the Coca Cola santa lorry advert on TV but no one else seems to agree with me on this.

So far the general concensus here seems to be when break up for christmas holiday from work.

Greboth.

Normally on the 25th December. :p

But realistically. Around the second week of December I guess, as my Birthday is in the first week so doesn't feel like Christmas for me yet. :)

December for me. Although I don't mind when stuff happens sooner, I love the Christmas spirit so the sooner it happens the better.

I have no understanding why anyone could hate Christmas. I understand it can be an expensive time of year but it's so fun :)

about the 20th:
Stick on its a wonderful life
Crack out the Cava with some pomegranate
Whip the festive jumper on
Spark up some cinnamon incense

And thats it, im there

As soon as the decorations go up in town.

Saying that the missus currently has VH1 on which is playing christmas tunes and it feels like christmas.

I've also just cleared the loft out and saw all the decorations :p

If I can get away with it then the 24th. My missus seems to think that as soon as the Xmas markets start in Manchester then its Xmas. She is badly wrong, and one day she'll except this.

Decorations come down on Epiphany.

My dad's birthday is on the 11th of december. it was always the 12th that any decorations etc got put because of this, so for me it's the 12th

one of the towns near me had decorations up in september iirc!! Something about there only be a limited number of people to do the whole borough's decorations so they have to start early lol

It officially becomes christmas in our house when I put up the christmas decorations. We also have a tradition that the decorations always go up on the first weekend of December, so this year it starts on December 5th for us.

I'm in 'Christmas Mode' from 1st December when the kids start to open their Advent Calendars.

Then first weekend of December we'll put the Tree and house decorations up.

Then it becomes 'Officially Christmas' from the second the kids break up from school, and I'm off work (so usually a week or so before Christmas).

This year it will be 'Officially Christmas' from the second I leave work on the 17th December :D

I agree on the Coca-Cola truck convoy sentiment.

Holidays-a-comin', holidays-a-comin' etc etc etc etc etc
