Apple TV or an Alternative?

Ive thought about getting an Apple TV (2nd Latest Generation) so i can rent/watch movies in HD...i thought the Xbox 360 could do this but i cant see how,i looked on Zune but what i want to watch "The Walking Dead" tv series is not shown.

Is there any better alternatives?

The Apple TV 2nd gen is around £90 on ebay brand new.


Anyone got one here?

All i want to be able to do is rent HD Movies/TV shows in 1080P,without it costing the earth in rent costs,What you guys suggest?

Yes but i want alternative suggestions,dont really want t have to fork out 90 quid before i can watch anything.

and no please dont close this thread....if anyone starts flaming they should be warned,Not just close my thread because of them!

Neither the 1st or 2nd gen Apple TV does 1080p they're both 720p. However 2nd Gen Apple TV + American iTunes account = win.

Even more win once it (maybe) runs iOS apps officially.

Even more win when hacked with ATVFlash.

Apple TV it's like £99 for crying out loud...

That Playon tv is a box similar to Apple tv right? need subscription?
 
that's it I'm getting one for chrimbo and hacking it with ATV flash.

Have US I tunes account which I highly recommend it's the only one that's not gimped.
