When does it become christmas for you?

3rd week in December. Not a moment earlier.

I love christmas but loathe with a passion people who bang on and on about christmas from the start of November then have their tree up a week later

Whenever BBC Sports Personality of the Year is on. And like Christmas in general this is creeping further and further forward in the schedules each year.

For me it's for 45 minutes when all the family are sitting around a table at my Mum's house and we're having Christmas dinner.
As soon as that's over Christmas has gone.
This year for the first time ever we're not doing it so it's not going to be christmas at all.

Bah humbug.

My god I thought I was a humbug. So what is the avoidance strategy for this year?

It isn't that I avoid it, it's just that it isn't the same than when I was a kid.
I'll go out on the office Christmas party and I'll take part in Secret Santa and no doubt be forced to have tinsel around my work area but it means nothing to me.
I'll turn up for about 4 parties and I'll definitely be singing Slade's Merry Christmas with my band during every gig in December.
I never feel Christmassy.

Well if you have to sing Slade's Merry Christmas - do YOU sing it? - then you have my deep sympathies.

I've heard tales of you being the senior member here but I can't be far behind. Nah - Christmas just isn't the same.

I think Christmas must have skipped a year for me last year because I didn't feel in the mood for it at all. Work kind of screwed it up and ruined it. Online retail is just hell at Christmas. Stupid idiots ordering at 3.00PM on the 23rd and then complaining that their order hasn't been dispatched.

Some miserable gits in here! :p

Going to my parents' on the big day as my girlfriend is working 8am-10pm Christmas Day. I don't think I'm going to enjoy it much until Boxing Day this year. Sucks tbh.
