What was wrong with the old man knocking on some doors instead? I can understand his frustration but ramming cars out the way? Seriously?
The Judge mentions that this is a persistent problem, so the probability is that he's tried that before.

Why does it need to be called racism? It is stereotyping as worst.
When a family of 50 pile out of a house in a swarm at 3 in the afternoon, to "attack" an old man for forcefully leaving his own property because one of them failed to park in a suitable place, it paints a good enough picture for me.

I tried asking my neighbours to turn the music down last night, they didn't understand me very well and didn't turn it down. I think I'm going to burn the house down while they sleep. That's okay isn't it as I asked them to turn it down?

Waited for hours until someone came back? While his business suffers in the mean time?
That was 30 years ago, things have changed quite a bit since then!

He's just working out which part of the story he's going to change by 10% first, quite a difficult one this time as he comes across as a complete racist.

He could have noticed it was kicking out time at the school and asked the parents standing by the gate? Or waited because a parent was only collecting their child and wouldn't be long.
How is it racist? I'd have formed the same opinion if it was a load of [white] chavs that swarmed him.

There is absolutely no evidence that there is a family of 50 piling out of a house and there is absolutely no evidence that any of the onlookers are related to the driver of the Ford Ka.
The garage is opposite a school at kicking out time. I'd imagine most of the people were waiting at the gates for children.
Where did your little story come from?
There is no story, just my interpretation. You have yours, I have mine. As it isn't stated anywhere, why is yours any more correct than mine?
What should he have done?
Waited for hours until someone came back? While his business suffers in the mean time?
Called the Police, who probably wouldn't have been interested, but if they were would have taken hours to show up, and probably be no more able to find the owners than he was.
Paid for a Taxi?
As for what he should have done, removed his car from the garage earlier and parked it in front of his garage. No issue then.
It's a school run, people WILL take advantage of any space they can.
