After speakers for a gaming mad nephew. He is hav ing a new PC so need good speakers. Max budget around £35. Any ideas?

Creative Inspire T10. They have had decent comments from people on various sites, but they aren't going to be as good as the pricier T20's. For £30, I can't think of anything that would be any better.

You'll be lucky to get good speakers for £35. Look on ebay for 2nd hand bookshelf speakers, I was lucky enough to pick up some Mission 700's for £20 recently and they're not bad, so it's not impossible.

While the chance of getting good speakers for £35 isn't likely, you guys have to realise that this is likely a present. Also, in this day and age, it seems 'good' covers a wide spectrum. Plenty of people say the T20's are good speakers, but some say they are crap. Buying 2nd hand bookshelf speakers for £20 is great, but when buying a present for someone else, maybe not. Someone needs to buy an amp as well to go with them. That may not be ideal.

More info is needed really. OP nephew's age, and how discerning is he between what is decent quality sound, and what isn't. If he can appreciate the sound from decent quality speakers, then the T10's wont cut it. Nothing will at £35. But like I said, what a person considers to be 'good' can vary quite a bit.

Yes I guess you could say 'good' is a subjective term... I've heard the T10's myself and I would not consider them to be good but many other people would. :) I'm sure for games they'll do the job though, so get the T10's.

EDIT: I think the Arctic Sound S111 2.0 Speaker System may be worth a listen also, they won't produce much bass but they are small and will be handy if he/she has a laptop. :)
