Yay one more bank holiday

Good choice that one, that means we have :

Friday - April 22nd - Bank Holiday
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off
Monday - April 25th - Bank Holiday
Tuesday - Work
Wednesday - Work
Thursday - Work
Friday - April 29th - Bank Holiday
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off
Monday - May 2nd - Bank Holiday.

Nice !

Think I will just book those 3 days off in the middle and have the whole lot :)
add the 4 days after mayday and it stretches it to 17 days total.

do we know if this is going to be every year or just for next year?

Hopefully i'm at work so i can get the extra money tbh.

It's the queens jubilee that is likely to become a new annual national holiday, will be in 2012 though, to mark her 60th anniversary on the throne

Is it actually a bank holiday though ? Do we defo get it as a bank hol ?
It's a national holiday. Unless it affects your statutory holiday then it will be up to your employer as to whether you get it off, obviously even if it does, you might still not get the day off, but it would mean you got an extra day off somewhere

+1

With a creative use of a couple of lieu days and the holiday in April I have booked I should be able to have the entire month off whilst only using a weeks leave.

result. Thats worth having the Royals that is...

Meh, bank holidays don't exist here. I'll probably have an exam that day.

They do for PhD students! Hmm . . . maybe not.

Noticed you're in the Department of Engineering - I work up at the Ashby Laboratory there. If you see a blue screen on someone's computer (that isn't NEWT going pear-shaped) then you'll know that it's the good old OcUK blue!
