Those things would simply make you feel better about the crime that was committed.

You can never ever change your mind when it comes to the death penalty. No matter how certain the authorities might be that someone is guilty they can't, in my opinion, ever be certain enough to kill someone.

People who can continue ruining lives inside prison.

Either that or confine them to solitary with absolutely no contact to the outside world or other prisoners.

Well yes, you can't bring them back to life. I would say though you have to kill 'x' people not just 1. So a couple of couple for example.
Rape obviously lives with the victim for the rest of their life... ruined their life possibly even years on. The rapist should pay for that.
