French review slates GT5 a 14/20

Well it's not exactly surprising, GT5 wasn't set in stone to be a revolutionary driving simulator. I've seen it so many times with other games (disappointment does hit pretty hard), whilst it is in the makes everyone is going crazy and as soon as it arrives on the shelves, WHAM it gets a 6 or 7 out of 10 and the world suddenly freezes. Then again 14/20 isn't bad, a 7/10; well not something I was expecting, but soon enough we will see if this score was justified as the reviews come from other critics.

I'll have mine tomorrow so I'll make my own decision. I hope the reviews are honest and don't give it a good review because they should. The official PS magazine is bound to give it 10/10 no matter what.. I've gone for the Signature Edition so I hope it's good, but equally if it's not I will be saying so.
 
I say if you liked the previous games, your gonna like this one, its pretty much exactly the same, just with more blng !. Although it is hard to see why it took 5 years or more to develop.
 
wow, was looking forward to this game and it being the reason to get a ps3 but from the reviews and peoples input from the actual game, considering how long it took to come out and the delays, Sony messed up with this one.

Get of it. You were never going to get a ps3 so stop posting crap. Have you only read the negative comments?

seems that it hasn't changed much after than prologue, well more options in menu/set up, cars and tracks i would assume ;). haven't played prologue in a long time, I was happy to see many cool makes like ferrrari, but i thought the multiplayer and AI were a fail (tbh I haven't played a driving game where AI impressed me). hopefully prologue was patched or something, wouldn't know as i haven't played it in a very long time

14/20 is a slating? Give over. Anyone remember Amiga Power? They'd give percentage scores in the single figures. That's a slating.

Slightly offtopic, but relevant in terms of publisher pressure, which there will be a lot of with GT5... Amiga Power used to catch flak from the publishers, even in those days, and there was always the threat that if they didn't review a game well, they would stop getting promo/review copies from the relevant publisher. They came up with a score which they figured was the lowest they could give a crap game without riling the publishers - something around 63% I think - and then any time you saw a game get that you could be sure it was crap, but they couldn't say so.

i don't know if it's better/worse than Forza (overall they are very similar), but there are more reasons to get a ps3 than just GT5 imo
 
I was going to comment about how good the 360 owners have been regarding being patient and letting the PS3 owners enjoy their release.

Then, with just half an hour to go, it all goes to ****.

Or what you really meant to say was "Dammit did GT 5 have to be such a disappointment I was hoping to rub it in for the xbox 360 owners and their forza."
 
This is only one review of many to be released, and besides wait until people actually have the game and have played it themselves before proclaiming its failed.

Now on the otherhand if many more sites start giving low scores, then you get worried. Besides its 7/10, some top games get that from reviewers who just don't like certain games.
 
maybe the reviewer has give it a lowish score for some attention....has he even played the online part of the game ? surely he should play the sp and mp to judge it fairly.

anyway he gave Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising a 14 too ....ive played both and i know dragon rising isn't on the same level as gt5.
