Just wondering whats the most serious health problem you've had? would be interesting to hear over peoples experiences.

Chopped a finger off down and across the bone plus a crushed hand when I was 7, went into surgery for quite while to put it back on. When coming round I went blue and apparently they thought they were going to loose me.

I've not swung on a washing line tied to a cast iron drain pipe since.

Second thing would be back in May I got Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, 6 months on half my face is still pretty much paralised although slowly coming back. Thankfully I am not basically passing out with the dizzyness anymore which lasted for 1-2 months which was a living hell.

Not too serious for me. Had a cyst on the left hand side of my neck which was a little uncomfortable as it was fairly big. Some surgery in October saw to that and now I have a lovely scar in its place. :p

Encephalitis, Oct 2009 - March 2010.
Pretty much almost destroyed me. For those who aren't in the know (as was I) it is when your immune system mistakenly attacks brain cell tissue instead of a cold/virus. It changes your character to an extent so I tend to swear a great deal, whereas before I was calm and controlled :o

1) Had most my right ear cut off when i got belted in the head with a bottle.

2) Had my right eye taken out of my bonce to rectify some problems with the muscles and to do cancer tests

Pretty modest compared to what some people go through...especially the soldiers among us.

Hole in the heart as a baby all though doctors didn't find it till we moved house and thus new gp.
Closed up on its own.

Or broken sternum, which again can be a big problem. But again luckily it isn't

Pneumonia & Pulmonary Embolism at the same time - managed to survive that one.
Total renal failure - now awaiting a kidney transplant

I was decapitated once, just waiting for a head transplant.

On a serious note, I was hit by a car when I was young and suffered a broken leg for it. That's the worst that's ever happened to me.

Nothing overly serious, touch wood. Apparently I was quite ill when I was a baby, but aside from that I've never had anything. The worst is probably a torn medial ligament in my knee, if that counts.

Rheumatoid Arthritis and an alergy to gold injections which was funtime for a few days. I had almost every symptom you can think of: never been more ill!

The only thing I've been hospitalised with a couple times was severe croup when I was a kid, that was scary as hell as I could barely breathe. I have IBS now which although can be a pain in the ass (lol) isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.

I had croup when I was a kid, yeah you are right, being holed up in an oxygen tent when your 8 is scary as hell.:(

Had a sniffle and a bit of a sore throat for a couple of days.

Broken a couple of bones in my body and dislocated a shoulder.

Mild/medium concussion after being run over by a car.

Erm... that's about it!

Oh no, I had surgery on my lower back owing to gashing myself open after falling off a 15ft ledge and hitting a rock.

These are just physical injuries though - never had an illness in my life!

Compared to most of you here seems I've been lucky! :o
