Just thinking about the 'value' of websites and what the Internet is worth to people... I hope this thread can be sort- of serious and not degenerate into silly numbers, but, in the following scenarios, what would you do:

1) How much money would someone have to give you in exchange for you never visiting, posting, or having anything to do with OCUK forums ever again?

2) If someone held your access to ransom (As above), and you had to pay to get it back, what kind of sum would you be willing to part with in order to get the ability to browse/ post/ etc back? (Spie don't get any ideas :) )

(and let's pretend you cannot circumvent the block in any way whatsoever)

If access was withdrawn I have a dozen other sites I frequent. I'd not pay a penny.
That's not to say I'd not be put out.

I'm not sure. It'd be worth a fair amount for scenario 1. Maybe £100 as mentioned earlier. I've paid much, much more in charitable donations here over the years.

For the second scenario I wouldn't pay anything, purely on principle.

1) £10,000 because that's my freedom of choice you're infringing on!

2) £0. Don't negotiate with terrorists :)

Nothing and Nothing. I'd be pretty annoyed I could never come here again but no way enough to consider paying.

If for example though, they offered a premium membership to help with the running costs and you got some kind of cool extras, I'd pay like £10 for that.
