Bottled water why!

Just watching a programme about bottled water and how it is a billion dollar industry. It leads me to the question why buy something you can get for free.

Actually I have no problem with it.

Even in this country a lot of people's tap water is horrible tasting.

Friend of mine goes to the states once a year and I remember him saying a couple of years back it was less for a litre of fuel than it was for a litre of bottled water.

I don't carry around a rain collecting barrel around with me, so if I require a drink outside of the house, and I don't want to look like a tramp drinking water out of the taps of a public toilet, what other option is there but bottled water?

i actually prefer tap water. every time i order water from a restaurant i always ask for tap water

probably just me though....

I buy it because when I am away from home its convenient and if I didn't buy water I would just buy Coke or something instead.

I never understood this, until I visited relatives in the south and tasted their tap water .

I realise some countries you need bottled water. But here for example tap water to me tastes the same as bottled water. In japan there is a bottled water that is 10x more expensive than oil of the same quantity.

I buy bottled water every so often because it's a whole lot easier than trying to find a free publically available water source. I do however tend to re-use the bottles and fill them up with tap water until the next time I forget or the bottle needs replacing.

This and if your water doesn't taste nice buy a filter.

When I was still in UK, only ever drunk filtered tap water with a Brita filter, wasn't until I got to Asia, that I discovered just how expensive bottled water is, but oh god, how essential it is in some parts!
