I wouldn't care if the movie came off as a cheesy b movie if he was casted as Nathan Drake. He even looks like him for christ sake.

Uncharted movie is going to be like the awful Tom Raider movies but without Jolie's fine ass.

Well I liked him in the recent 'The other guys' :( He was also good in The Departed
The guy (Nathan Fillion) that you're all crying about is pretty much a one trick pony in my opinion and definitely not a big screen star, not saying Wahlberg is awesome but he is a movie star and has produced some good stuff (especially Entourage and Boardwalk Empire).

Should have been Fillion.

I don't mind Mark Whalberg, but I can't see him pulling off the Nathan Drake persona even half as good as Nathan Fillion would have done.

Disappointed. Was hoping it would be Nathan Fillion, the lovable rogue!

I can't think of any films Mark Whalberg has been in I've particularly enjoyed. Maybe it's him, maybe it's the film.

Disagree with this I'm afraid. There aren't many films by Mark Whalberg I've enjoyed, but I enjoy a lot of the stuff that Fillion's in. He's very good at creating a character that you like and love and would have been perfect for the role.

Whalberg may have been in bigger stuff, but he's just had lucky breaks imo.

The big thing that annoyed me about Whalberg playing Max Payne was that he'd not played the games, and had no intention of playing them to learn about the character. I know for a fact that Nathan Fillion is a massive gadget person, and loves games, Uncharted included.

I'm not a huge Fillion fan, but i could see him as drake.

Fillion and Campbell would be a pairing i could get on board with. He has the kinda cheesy smarmy charm that Drake has. Whalberg is a 'complete dodd of wood' as we say up here.

Unfortunately we're the small percentage of the audience that actually knows just how uncanny the similarites are between Drake and the characters Fillion typically portrays. But it's a movie so they're going for a much bigger audience and as such it's obvious why they've gone for a much bigger name.

As for Wahlberg, he's about as hit and miss as you can get. Can't see him as Drake though I must say. Infact Fillion is such a good fit it's hard to imagine anyone as well suited to the role.
