Yeh but at least on GT5 you can press restart i bet you didnt :p think you are right about the sound though ;) .
 
Well, after a lousy day at work, and a disappointing session in the gym, I returned home in poor spirits... Then I found that my PS3 and GT5 had been delivered. :D

Taken an age to think of a username, and now I'm finally installing. 12mins left, allegedly... I'm not sure how I'm going to adapt to this dualshock controller, it seems a little insubstantial compared to one of my old 360 ones, but I'm liking the actual PS3 though. So much slicker than my old Elite.

OK, so I'm missing something here.

I can't win the Yaris race because I cant buy a Yaris or Vitz fast enough, the model that keeps winning the race isn't available in the Toyota dealer, and nothing is on the used car section. Are the cars you race against tuned with extra parts or something? Same goes for the 1970s Skyline, theres nothing at all to buy yet I meet the level criteria for the Japanese classics race. Just can't buy any car to enter the damn thing!

Is this normal, do you have to wait for some cars to be available or do I need to do more licences and stuff?

I also just turned the console off because I was getting so fed up of the wait to get back to the main menu EVERY time I exited from a sub section. 2 days in, still not overly impressed with it.

Oh my God my games broken!

Just deleted my save as i've only just started. Everytime I try and complete the 'Basic Information Settings' screen it seems like the game can't go any further. Basically i've just put all my info in again and selected my theme then clicked OK and nothing. The mouse cursor thing is stuck on OK and I can't do anything about it! Twice now that's happened, need another re-start.

Go and buy some upgrades!!! On the main GT Life menu, on the right has a picture of some shocks/springs.. I tuned mine to 97BHP I think, and had to still drive out of my skin to win, and that was only by weaving to stop the front cars overtaking.. So if you have the cash, get it up to 110BHP or something.. It costs credits, but it evens the playing field!

But my point is the model that keeps winning isn't available to buy. I can only buy a Vitz with around 108BHP, the one in the race is around 130BHP.

And there are series I can enter because of my level, but no car is physically available to do so! e.g. the Japanese Classic.

Is this normal?

I won a Nissan Micra TNB and it canes the **** out of 2.0 litre cars :)
 
Does anybody now why the patch is taking so long to download on my ps3 i started to download it at 4 pm and it still only on 77%: now mad:. My 20mb virgin connection is downloading super fast with my 360 and pc just the ps3 that is so slow but why?
 
0.8 seconds off beating the Top Gear Elise race! It's tough and damned right irritating but loving it.

Ive had to "Quit Game" about 3 or 4 times now, because nothing seems to be happening (Grey GT logo, or spinning cursor). Maybe something to do with the online servers getting hammered - I cant seem to get very far into the online section at all without a timeout.

But even quitting from Arcade mode to main menu sometimes just seems to hang....

I was having problems yesterday that were server related, but today I can do everything else in the game quickly apart from going back to the main menu, takes ages. All other menu screens are fine, as is accessing any online parts.

Doing the Licene tests now, B-3 cornering is killing me! I seriously want to see a human being try and get 26.000 in a crappy Swift Sport.

I did this and corrupted my GameSave. It has happened to me since I started again, but now I know it is a server type issue, I just wait and eventually it goes to the menu I want. Might disconnect from the Internet and see if that speeds things up.
