***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Well, I thought about waiting some more but caved in and asked the GF to pick up a copy and also placed a bid on a 2nd hand Logitech Driving Force EX of 25 euro, is it a reasonable wheel?

That wheel is similar to the one i am using for now it will get the job done but thats it .

anyone managed to come first in the stock car race in the special events section , im finding it hard on the amatuer diffuculty also

is it possible to backup the gt save ?

I didnt like the top gear lotus race  that thing gets out of shape well easy , damn i have a old chevy muscle car with supercharger and other mods and that is easier to control than the lotus with very little driving aids  .

Use the brake whilst still accelerating then release the accelerator. You'll find it keep the car much more stable.

Ah cool, no-one said anything in text chat and I didn't see a mic icon so I assumed the worst.

Would be great if we can stick to voice chat instead of text (assuming people have mics). I find the chat bubbles that appear highly annoying and distracting.

You'll be able to use voice chat in-game no doubt but you can't have voice lobbies like you can on the XBox 360, a feature that should have been there at the start of the PS3's life.

I'll post the Vent details once I get home from work and instructions on how to install and set it up.

Handbrake.

Pretty tricky to execute a 'right hand over left hand, right index finger on the O button' on a G27 selector while down shifting on the paddles

Doable but very tricky. I hope someone discovers how to map the handbrake to one of the buttons on a G27 wheel.

Shocking lack of support for the G25/27

Done it without the handbrake! I'm using a DFP so all the right buttons within reach :D

Just spotted a Jag E-Type Coupe 1961 in used cars, so I've snapped it up and tuned it up. Upwards of 300,000km on the clock :p

Absolute beauty :D

Waste of money doing it all up mind you, but felt like it as my dad has one. Had to paint it though as it didn't come in red :(
