Hello

just a word of warning on anyone buying a Titan Fenrir Evo. When screwing on the "thumbscrews" I made the mistake of using a screwdriver to tighten them and ended up on one of them snapping off the top thread of the upright as I screwed it too tight.

Yes I admit they have cross section on top for using a screw driver with but its best to tighten them with your fingers! :o

Luckily I had some spare bits from my old watercooling setup and used a bolt, nut, couple of washes and cut a nylon spacer to the same length as the original metal uprights. Worked a treat. :D

I used a screwdriver to do them up on my Titan Fenrir. but I was worried I was doing them up too tight. I didn't have much choice though as I couldn't get my fingers to at least 2 of them as I had already fitted the motherboard into the case.

As a result I either didn't do it up tight enough or the original Titan Fenrir wasn't that good a cooler.

I actually installed it on the motherboard out of the case only way I could get to the screws. My fingers were cut to ribbons on the fins of the heatsink.

What I am delighted about is that I am getting the same (if not slightly better) temps as when I used a Corsair H50-1 !

make a bit of money (got a brand new Fenrir Evo very cheap) and see if what I have read about some air coolers being as good the H50-1. Seems the H50-1 is not all that good after all for the amount of money I spent in my rig.

I may have missed the point here but why did you try tightening your thumbscrews with a screwdriver in the first place? Was it due to a lack of space around the cpu cooler to get your hand/thumb in?

This was the case with my mobo when it came to mounting it, my case uses thumbscrews to mount the motherboard, most could be tightened by hand, however two or three were in akward to reach places so a screwdriver was required.

I've read on here top end air is comparable with bottom end water.

yes which is why I later did it with the motherboard out of the case.
