***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Wow,has anyone else tried the Buick Special '62. It's the car you get for completing the 'Classic Muscle Car Championship' in the amateur series. It must be bugged and they must have put the wrong performance model on it. It looks like a clapped out old banger but goes like a rocket ship, I was doing 200mph down the straight and taking corners at 90mph+ in it, it also sounds like a modern day GT series car.

I'm no car expert but I didn't think they had cars that could go that quick in 62. It made it nice and easy to do the 'World Classic Car Series' on beginners :D

Think I've fallen in love with GT games again, once you get your head back around japanese style you realise this game is pretty much done what they said it'll do..

I've even watched the intro again and fully understand the abstract japanese style, its just how I remembered all GT games before it.

I think western style Forza 3 played a big part in me forgetting what GT was about and how stylish it really is... I'd played forza endless but what do you expect... GT wasn't out, GT5P was just a tech demo, and I wasn't playing GT4 anymore as i'd sold my PS2 years ago..

I don't regret selling my 360 now... GT5 does everything I need it to..... Took me a few days to get into the game fully, but its a damn good game if you ask me.

Right, back to it... I'm off work so plenty of time to hammer GT5. :p

Which idiot decided VW camper vans on the Top Gear test track was a good idea?

Seriously, wtf.

That's the japanese for you. I thought it was a good idea but was overly harsh with the penalties.

Its the lotus challenge I found more frustrating. I simply cannot get any better then bronze, and I only did that once.... Car slips all over the place, I have to brake and accelerate at the same time otherwise I fish tale all over the track... utter maddness indeed

Reading this post makes me want GT5 so badly! I haven't played GT in years since 4 on the ps2 and I loved Forza 3. Bring on payday!!

I'd be quite happy fighting with a car to get it round the track, my issue with the campers is the joke of acceleration, seriously you touch the brake once in the wrong place and you may as well give up because you won't outrun them.

I'm sure they are jokes if you upgrade them but as stock cars, and as a special challenge, its just irritating.

Like moths to a flame !, welcome back :p, I also had my doubts about the game but like you once I got stuck in it all came rushing back, the game is not perfect by any means but it drives so well and it's bloody addictive.

Ahhh, took me 2 hours to do that last night, almost launched my joypad at the wall  The strange thing though is that once I got it figured out it bacame easy, it was about 3 specific corners where you can overtake easy but need to use a different line to the other vans so you don't go smacking into the back of them, plus it was all about keeping momentum going and not scrubbing off too much speed.

They could have put in an easier first challenge though as I'd imagine a few people will struggle to do it.

Yea I had to stop myself from raging and did some other races, I'm sure I'll be able to do it but I won't be enjoying myself tbh, it's just a weak race.
