Harry Potter and the Deatly Hallows trailer

saw this the past friday. quite an exhusting film really, pretty much everyone in the cinema kinda huffed out at the end , almost like a 'thankgod that was over'

im gonna compare it to the books simply bc i find the final book to be a very rewarding experience with a lot of pivotal detail thats very much missing from the film, yes they couldnt include everything, but missing out features like them planning the MoM entry and the goblins situtation at the end just baffles me.
i cant imagine how anyone that hasnt read the book, even understands what is trully going on half the time with the constant set switches and complete lack of character direction.

i enjoyed the sections of the MoM scenes that were in the film though, and kinda shows that HP could work with older cast.

im looking forward to part 2 and the end of the films.
surprised at how much Rupert Grint has beefed out, hes got some proper muscle mass on him nowadays.

Thought it was rather dull compared to the other films if I am honest. Went in expecting there to be a lot of action so came out seriously disappointed since the only action was the first 5 minutes and last 10 minutes.

I said that to the missus when we went to see it.. I thought he was meant to be some weedy ginger kid, not some beefed up gymrat!

I actually really like the films apart from the first couple, by the way, I have never read the books and don't intend to :p

I like how the films seem to get a bit darker in the story line etc. for each new film and love how the story is turning out etc.

Absolutely loved the HBP and all the adult actors are amazing especially Alan Rickman and Michael Gambon, they are true actors, act completely different in nearly every film they are in unlike Will Smith etc. who are all the just the same in all of there films.

Also was just thinking as well, I think Harry is a horcrux as well (the scar), so in order to truly defeat voldermort, he will/might have to kill/sacrifice himself, but then he is the one that has to kill voldermort according to the prophecy. So not too sure how that will work out if he is a horcrux.

Unless they can remove the horcrux from Harry and destroy it but that will also remove his powers as well maybe (since apparently part of voldermorts power went into him and if they remove voldermorts horcrux with his power, Harrys power might also get taken in the process).

What do you think?

Way to slate Will Smith... Hardly fair.

As I recall from the book, he is a Horcrux, and he dies, except he doesn't.

:p

Well, you have to admit, he does play the same sort of guy in nearly all of his films apart from a few, how ever he is not the worst one, he was just the first one to pop on to my head to use as an example :p

Others would be Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Arnold etc.

However they all suit the parts that they play IMO and the films are amazing and no one could play the parts as well as what they do i.e. no one could replace any of Arnolds roles in the likes of commando, terminator etc.

It's just when you look at the actors like Alan Rickman etc. who are true actors in the sense that they play there character completely different in nearly all of there films, everything about them is completely different and IMO that is what defines a true/proper actor.

As I recall from the book, he is a Horcrux, and he dies, except he doesn't.

Hmmm, ok :p

EDIT:

Also they have to actually be good at acting and not crap to be a true/proper actor :p

Reading the books would be fruitless, on this point. You're right when you say that :mad::rolleyes::cool::p;):D:o:(:), but I have seen part of the trailer for Part II in which something happens that makes the last book of the book unworkable within the film. They do something that makes extracting the ending from the book impossible. So, who knows? :p

Hmmm, ok, makes it pretty hard to figure out the ending then :p

Will need to find JKR and force her to tell us now! :p

Just saw it, massive amounts stolen from other WELL KNOWN fictional stories, not impressed, got dragged there against will, seems I was only one looking around the cinema in disbelief saying 'has anyone else read or seen a film/story where the wearer gets abit evil and nasty and they share wearing the ring, sorry pendant' ??

hmmm,lol ;)

Saw this a while ago. I've seen 1,2,3 and 4, I don't think I've seen 5 or 6, I can't actually remember :p

It was actually alright in my opinion. Couldn't touch 1 or 2 though. At times a bit long winded and a struggle to get through, but the Dobby scene at the end almost had me in tears.

Went to watch the early showing at my local earlier... it's certainly posed more questions than it answered (For me anyway) i'm watching the films through then I intend to get the books (Funny way of doing it I know) but I got into the films first so i'm gonna see how it ends and then compare the books :)

The film itself I quite enjoyed... I actually gasped when Hedwig got shot down by the Death Eaters.. and Dobbie :(

It's gonna be a long ass wait for 15th July!

Do you do the same to every film you watch or are you just picking on the Potter films to be cool?

Saw it last week - I enjoyed it quite a lot but it was a tad depressing in parts. I haven't read the books however so I wouldn't say my opinion was valid!

Sometimes I wish Emma Watson wasn't in the films though as I simply cant keep my eyes off her (I'm allowed as shes my age) - I find it hard to concentrate on the rest of the film :p

Was not keen on seeing it but thought it was the best Harry Potter film out so far. Dragged on a bit and was yawning near the end though especially with the Dobby scene.

Do the final book justice and read it before you see the second part of deathly hallows. I saw a few films before I read the series and although the books are very good a lot of the tension and surprises were ruined because I already knew what was going to happen. When I got to the books that I hadn't seen the films for I enjoyed them much more, found them much more tense and read them a lot quicker.

I watched this on Saturday, I admit to never reading the books but the girlfriend has.

Not a lot happens in the movie, they just wander from place to place. I actually felt the movie was some sort of UK tourism film as it had so many set pieces of landscape and country side with nothing happening.
