GTX460 768mb v Radeon 6850???

From what I remember of reading the reviews of the 6850/6870 around their launch was that the 6850 trades blows with the 460 1GB. So with that in regard, between the 768mb version and 6850, the 6850 is going to be the better option, particularly at higher resolutions. I believe it also uses less power too.

Do you have any particular budget? Or are those your only options? It's currently possible to get a new Gigabyte 5850 for £115 (although on pre-order and assuming it's not a misprice) if you shop around, this would be what I'd get given the similar price range.

you can get completely passive 6850's too

460 can't do passive coz lolfermi

The 460 is based on a different fermi chip than the others based on GF100 i.e. 470 so it runs much cooler and uses less power. Based on these figures I think they could probably produce a passive 460 if they deemed it necessary:

I like the sound of the 6850 but I am a bit ATI biased....

I'm pondering a 6850 for my Shuttle with its 400W PS, I see 268 Watts total load is well within that. Any thoughts?
