had my 5770 for a while now...few months...and now i noticed in some games became glitchy...like laggy.. i did increse volts..worked fine..but now i noticed it became laggy like graphics in some games.

today friday ill be replacing it with something else..

my mobo has xfire but been told it be easier to get 1 card in stead of xifire..

sorry i allready went rhough this..but now its really anoying..........

What temps the card runing at ?
Try removing the heatsink and applying some decent thermal paste if iys running hot.

As for crossfire I've run 5770 and now 6850 crossfire and I've never had any major issues apart from dead rising 2 but that wasn't a crossfire issue.

i only increased the voltage on it with msi burner.. temps are usualy 59-61 in wow or SC2...stock is

850
1200
Volt is 1200 now.

still feeling edgy

edit

im using latest drivers.. aint they 10.11?

someone thought it was my CPU so i took it down to 3.3ghz still the same the cpu v in bios is 1.28.

ok thanks for the help..cant seem to find the problem..will be doing what abitar said later on in my test pc

for now ill enjoy my new XFX 6870 later today :D

im keeping this at stock clock for now..but what voltage increase you recommend to keepomy games stable for now.

you shouldn't need to alter voltage on graphics card to keep your games stable if you keep it at stock

+1

Most of the battle is knowing where to look for the problem, obviously in this case you are tinkering with something unrelated.

I would start by finding out which programs you are running in the background. It seems a possibility that something u installed is hogging cpu time/resources.

I would advise u to read a guide about operating system optimization. Useful programs to discover what is running is the windows task manager and hijackthis! to remove unnecessary pap e.g. running windows messenger or tomtom or even adobe acrobat files at start up i.e. all the time when u rarely use the program.

well i do play wow/sc2 off a 1tb on my pc..and OS on a 1tb on same pc..i think that wont be the problem...thanls for the advice..ill look straight in to it.
