I've had an absolute nightmare with Farrell and Heyworth, they are completely inept and fail to complete even the most simple of tasks.

No heating, and this was reported over a week ago, endless calls promised etc. etc... what are your experiences with letting agents?

I'll sure as anything never use them again... so angry right now! Can anything be done about this, as it's ****** freezing where I am, and I'm totally fed up.

Other faults have either not been fixed, or have been fixed in a manner a monkey would better.

quite sure they cant leave you without heating legally

read up a bit on the net about it and then threaten to stop paying the rent and that you will take legal action against them

edit:

read here, 24 hours for no heating

quote:

If repairs are not started within the allowable time, and you are paid up in rent and utilities, you may exercise the following options:
• Move out. After waiting the required time, the law allows tenants to give written notice to the landlord and move out immediately. Tenants are entitled to a prorated refund of their rent, as well as the deposits they would normally receive.
• Litigation or arbitration. A tenant can hire an attorney and go to court to force the landlord to make repairs, or, if the landlord agrees, the dispute can be decided by an arbitration service. Arbitration is usually less costly and quicker than going to court.
• Hire someone to make the repairs. In many cases, the tenant can have the work done and then deduct the cost from the rent. Before the work is done, the tenant must submit an estimate to the landlord. To speed up the repair process, the estimate can be given to the landlord along with the original notice of the problem. The total cost of the repairs that may be deducted from the rent cannot exceed the amount of one month's rent.

Agencys ok but landlords a numpty
didn't paint the rooms/celings properly so the old paint's showing though and they didn't paint two of the walls they said they would (so it's still pink)
when we moved in the fridge didn't work and the oven kept turning itself on/off randomly
also the blind in the kitchen was broken and the poles for the curtains where all broken/painted over and had to be replaced.
the letterbox on the door was falling off and the lamp by the door had rusted shut (plus the bulb had gone)
also when I called because the wall unit in the kitchen had started falling off because it wasn't fitted properly and had dropped stuff on me when I was getting things out
I got swore at.
nice.
not going to be staying beyond out current contract. I will be telling EVERYONE i see that it's to be avoided and posting anywhere I can
TOWNSEND ACCOMMODATION
FAIL

Communicate by email so you have a written record.

Copy in Environmental Health at the council if they are slacking which is normally a good kick in the pants :p

Petty letting in Burnley Lancashire are completely useless, i got paid on the 5th of nov for october and havent seen this months rent yet, even though my tennant pays by standing order on the 16th. Iv'e got 2 months left on my contract with them, but i think i should be doing them for breach of contract.

I've learnt you should avoid these losers like the plague.
