If they have it at 50% off i'll be one of the first people buying it but it's already £20 and i'd be surprised to see them reduce it much more. How much was it on sale for before?

Retail though, retail is almost always cheaper, often even during the Steam sales.

Another site I post on, someone posts steam deals and also links to a cheap retail price, the retail is normally still available cheaper elsewhere if you can be bothered looking.

IIRC it was £29.99, reduced 33% to about £20 and I bought it for that. At the time it was still £24.99 on Amazon etc. Soon after Amazon had it for £14.99, much to my dismay :o

When Steam has big discounts like 75%-90% off, you don't often find those prices bettered in shops IME.
 
It's available for £15 as a permanent price though but like I said, 'normally' not always. Sometimes there are very good deals (especially on their own stuff) but often the deals aren't much better than retail prices or even at all.

That of course doesn't account for the fact you sacrifice steam integration on a lot of games.
 
On the first page OP has already posted 'incoming gifts' which include just cause 2 and alien vs predator 2010. Did he already get a confirmation from steam or something like that?:confused:.

Indeed, but you can usually pick a copy up 2nd hand for like £5. It is however still worth £9.99... I just wouldn't personally pay that.

Looking on ebay (completed auctions) and Amazon marketplace, COD4 usually goes for around £10-£15 even secondhand. Yes you can occasionally get it cheaper.

Suffice to say I wouldn't bet on it being under £9.99 on Steam for some time.
