Opinions and costs : used XJRs

I feel this needs to be said, 1998~ XK8's are chuffing lovely.

Yes thats another excellent idea if you dont need the back doors. But get a 4.2 from 52 plate onwards to avoid all the tensioner drama.

Yeah, my comment wasn't really for the OP, I just love those cars.

The only thing that makes this imperfect is that thing in-between the two front seats. Why didn't they do a manual? Although apparently there are companies who do a flappy padel 'manual' conversion, not sure how good these are through.

Yea its got the old fashioned handbrake by the door, not that it ever gets used, thats what park is for :)

Nah, I'd love a manual in the STR. Auto is fine for cruising, but sometimes I'd like to be able to select the gears myself...

I can't comment very well, the closest I've gotten to one if staring at one in a carpark.

Still, it just seems the perfect car(ish) for a manual...

I think if you want to change gear, get a Porsche or a BMW they do the gear changing thing much better, the whole character of a Jag is auto, although saying that the S Type manuals change nicely its still not for me though.
