I've got a set of Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 that have been going strong for 9 years.

I was thinking of Creative Gigaworks T20 off OcUK. The T40 for £90 is more like my budget though. Before I take the plunge, I was wondering if there were any others that you guys could recommend. I chose £90 on the basis that I paid that much for the Soundworks 9 years ago, and I want to go down to 2.0 to decrease the footprint. I also like the fact that the T20/40 series allows 2 input devices. Main usage will be desktop PC, laptop PC and keyboards/synthesisers.

Thanks.

I have the T40's
I was dissapointed with them. I have kinda got used to them now and have learnt which music they are kind to and which to avoid listening to on them. They are OK speakers if you don't want the size of a sub but their bass really isn't good.
I'm selling my T40's soon though and getting the Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1's
I should have got them in the 1st place. similar price but light years difference in terms of sound quality. If you really do want to be sub free and are determined to get 2.0 instead of 2.1 then I guess the T40's are your solution. They are good but I don't think they are worth £100 (what I paid with delivery) I have bookshelf speakers of about that price that are MUCH better than the T40's
They are however, an attractive set of speakers for your desk.

Anybody looking to buy the T40's I would suggest, if at all possible, try and find somewhere that has them in stock so you can listen to them before buying them to avoid a £100 dissapointment. They are good with certain genres of music and not bad for gaming.

My apologies in my 1st post - I thought OcUK didn't have have the T40 as I was looking at the top of the page and saw the 4 top offers. Then I realised that OcUK sell 24 different sets of speakers. Whoops!

Thanks for the feedback on the T20/40's and the Aego M. I can see that they're all on OcUK :-)

I've also looked at wattage - T40 offers 34W RMS, Aego M offers 90W RMS, so I'm going to go slightly over-budget and buy the latter from OcUK :-D

Thanks again peeps!

I would personally recommend the M-Audio AV30's. I have these and they're fantastic. Best sounding speakers I've ever owned.
