***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Does anyone know if you redo a championship do you get another prize car or is it just the money? Not spending 25mins to find this one out myself :p

Ninja - Also has anyone managed to find one of the 20 Race Modified cars? Ive been looking in the used dealership for 2 days now and no joy :(

Oil change? lol!

Anyone else finding B-Spec like watching paint dry?

B-spec is good when your browsing the internet at the same time as having the game run, thats waht i am doing atm. Get a car that is a lot faster then opposition and let the ai driver do the rest. Made me some money, but also stopped me from being bored as i was allready on the internet!

By race modified do you mean the cars that you can take into GT Auto and choose the option on the far right? If so I know that the '97 Civic Type R, Integra Type R, Impreza WRX STI, Lancer Evo 9 and possibly 10 and the Lotus Elise 111r can be race modified. I'm not sure about any others but someone posted a list in this thread somewhere, I asked the same question a few days ago. If that's not what you're on about then just ignore me.

:p

Oh and a question of my own, Like The Wind, I'm on the Superspeedway track, is it worth buying a NASCAR to do this race and will it be competitive with the likes of the 787B and such?

Thats what ive done, so far my B Spec races are like this:

Give rubbish level 1 driver a 347bhp Nissan 350z

During the race countdown, tell him to increase speed.

Driver overtakes everybody on the first straight.

Tell driver to decrease speed twice then maintain his speed.

Make a cup of coffee.

Check back in 8mins to collect your gold trophy.

:)

Is that through B-Spec mode? Got to admit since I got GT5 I haven't been into that part once. Is it effectively a glorified AI assist mode then, so you can still get trophies for races as you would if you had done them yourself (I assume you get less money and XP though?)

Yep theres a list of 20 cars, but apparantly they have to have RM in the title for them to be able to be modified. They are all Premium cars but you cant buy any of them from the main dealerships they have to be used :(

Heres the list for those who dont know:

Acura NSX RM ‘91
Chevrolet Camaro SS RM ‘10
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RM ‘69
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) RM ‘06
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM ‘09
Dodge Challenger R/T RM ‘70
Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EK) RM ‘97
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) RM ‘04
Lexus IS F RM ‘07
Lotus Elise RM ‘96
Lotus Elise 111R RM ‘04
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR RM ‘05
Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) RM ‘02
Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STI spec C Type RA RM ‘05
Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) RM ‘95
TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM ‘00
Volkswagen Golf IV GTI RM ‘01

Basically you can give 4 commands to your driver:

Increase Speed
Decrease Speed
Maintain Speed
Overtake

And you do the same races as in A-Spec mode except they seem to be over a few more laps. You get the same money as A-Spec mode (i think but i cant remember the exact amount for each race) and you get the same xp except it goes towards your driver not to your A-Spec level. New prize cars are given as well so its worth looking into if you have a spare 10minutes and cant be bothered doing a race yourself :)

Choose a premium car for your driver though so at least you have something nice to look at during what is basically a race replay.

No, you can buy them from the new dealerships, I've done the Civic and the Type R myself already. Don't look for RM in the title, you just buy the exact model that is listed above, it's premium cars only. :p

Oh, and the answer to "Is the NASCAR competitive in the Like The Wind series?" The answer is no, not at all.

:(

That the way.... Although some drivers cant handle all that power... Specially in a rear wheel drive car.

I find myself having to tell them to slow down on certain sections. God knows how they'll cope in endurance races lol

Both my drivers are level 7 :)

Ya, rly. :p

Just go buy 'em from new. Just bear in mind that it changes all the handling characteristics and makes them uber lightweight, but you will still need to visit the tuning shop to upgrade the BHP because it doesn't make very much different to the cars horsepower, it just strips it out ready for you to add the horsies.

Oh and I'm just trying out B-Spec mode for the first time, I made an ice cold driver and he's tearing up the Sunday Cup as we speak. :p

So who has bought there actually car in this game :D

I've got a mk1 MR2, picked up both the NA and Supercharged from the used car dealership (and the first car I bought was a Mk3 MR2), not really used the mk1's yet though, mk3 I used as stock to win the top left and top right of the beginner series (can't remember what they're called) :)

Thinking going mad with the supercharged mk1 for the mr cup in the amateur series :p

Or I could save myself some time and apply a few choice tweaks to the elise I won and probably do it for a tenth of the cost :p

finally done the Gran Turismo all stars. Only did it because the Bentley and Judd race car weren't competing. Some Merc was my closest challenger. I used a car I won from the B spe amateur roadster championship. And here was me thinking my 850bhp GTR was quick.

No idea, but I really need the answer to this one as well, it's the only one on that page that I haven't done, apart from the All Stars, and it's driving me mad. I spent more than 200,000 doing the 512BB and all it does is drift all over the shop, wheelspin everywhere until my driver crashes and dies in a ball of flames. :(

I'm going to do B-Spec for a little bit to alleviate the stress and earn me some credits and cars. If the guy above says he did it with a car he won from an amateur B-Spec tournament then it shouldn't take long to get that far and win the car. :)

Its a Mazda prototype race car and its quick. Though not quick enough to win at Indianapolis in the gone with the wind thingy. Those cars are on crack.
