Hey,

I fitted a new bathroom for some friends about 6 months ago, last night i heard they had a wet patch on cieling below the bathroom. They said its been happening for the last week so i tryed to go round last night but they said it was a bit to late (7:00) .. arranged to go round tonight and the owners girlfriend just txt saying the owner doesnt want the floor messed up if i come round and will take a look himself some time!

Im trying to tell them that its only a 5 min job to check under the bath and it wont damage anything but they just dont get it.... sounds like more damage is being done by the day yet they seem to not want me togo around and take a look,so frustrating!

And no its not because i did a rubbish job or they dont trust me, before any one shouts cowboy :P

It's dangerous to leave that. Had a leak under my bath in my uni house. Within a couple of days, a crack had appeared in the ceiling and water was leaking everywhere. Turns out a pipe had basically given way. They need someone to get there asap or face more costs in repairs.

Exactly!!!

And here i am, a bathroom fitter, offering to go round as soon as i hear and they are refusing, it just doesnt sound right? i cant help thinking some thing fishy is going on as they have now mentioned it being a insurance job. If its that bad LET ME COME ROUND! agh!

Looks like they think you are at fault and don't want you there to me, brace yourself for a Damages/Losses Claim ;)

Plus you cant just "touch up" the ceiling below, im a painter and the leak will leave a stain, they will have to wait till its dry, then give it a coat of stain block, but preferably an alkali resisting primer then filled if need be and a coat of paint, pretty sure it wont touch up so the whole celing will need done again.

I agree. Get it in writing that you have offered to fix but they prefer you not to. Could be they are claiming a larger amount from insurer than is necessary and stating it was Plumbers fault. Unfortunately they have lost all details of your address/Tel no so can't pass on to company, or they may pass on your details after loss adjuster has had a look then Insurance company sends you the bill.

Hope I'm wrong but best to cover yourself.

She's had sex in/over the bath with the neighbour and has blamed your work for the abundance of water that they spilled. She doesn't want you round because there is no leak.

Just turn up with a bag of tools and say you're going to deal with it. They can't exactly say no if you're on the doorstep :p
