stock fan&heatsink LGA775

Hey mike

it will fit and work fine although won't cool as well as the stock heatsink from a Q6600 . . . the E7200 is a newer 45nm chip compared to the older 65nm Q6600 . . . Intel® shipped the DualCore 45nm chips with a "slimmed" down skinny heatsink without a copper slug . . . if your not overclocking then no worries but if you are overclocking (which you should be with a Q6600) then get the marshmallows out! :D

I ran my Q8400 on the stock cooler for a while, and it got really hot, even not overclocked. I would strongly recommend spending a few quid on a proper cooler.

Arctic Freezer Pro 7 keeping my o/clocked Q6600 at a nice low temp, and this is higher than usual as I've got the central heating turned up in the house full bung all day just now...lol!!.

High readings are the result of a long session of Fallout 3 New Vegas :-

Wait for the usual MX-3 vs MX-5 shootout......

MX-2 for the win. :p

Half the price and only a tiny fraction behind in performance.

I would'nt be using a 45nm cooler on a Q6600 though, especially if overclocked. It's half the size of the normal Q6600 cooler and no copper core.
