MS certs (Prometric) - VAT added?

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this for the last hour. Prometric's site lists MS cert costs as £88 + (applicable taxes), but other sources indicate there is no VAT to pay.

Sadly it's another of those sites that force you to create an account before showing you the real bill (I hate these!).

So has anyone done any MS exams lately? Do you pay £88 or £105 each? My local college said they'd do it with no VAT, but I'd have to pay a £50 "external student" fee for each exam. No thanks!

I hear you can sometimes avoid VAT by buying international vouchers, but I've only seen these for the CompTIA exams not the MS ones.

Basically, I'd like to pay only £88 each, by hook or by crook. Anyone?

I'm pretty sure (I'm not a VAT expert, and don't have a green book here) that educational courses are VAT free, but you may find that there is some element of VAT if there are books or other taxable goods/services included.

I booked another exam via Prometric on the 16th November and there was no separate VAT charge added.

However, when I looked at another center (Pearson VUE), they were indeed charging VAT.

You're lucky if you're getting the Prometric site to work, normal it's awful. Exams I've paid for have always been from what I can remember £88

I notice I can only book for the months of December and January. Everything else is blank. I assume this means they only let you book up to two months in advance.

Yeah they wont let you book any more in advance than that, not really sure of their reasoning though

Ive recently done my enterprise admin and I paid £88 per test.

Here's an idea. There was this device, created, I don't know 140 years ago. Simply, as I understand it, you can use this device to speak to someone miles away using what is in essence, a piece of string. There are also ones available which don't require wires. Perhaps give one of them a go.
