Spec me a Windows 7 OS

Sounds stupid, but because of the various windows 7 available, wanted to know what would be best for me.

system would be used for gaming, usual web browsing/streaming

is there much difference in any of the variants available.

Home Premium should be fine

Home Premium. No point in any others. Unless you have very specific needs.

Totally agreed. Home Premium user here and it's pretty much all you need. Also, if you have a 64 bit CPU, make use of it and forget going for the x86 version of W7.

Price checks should be done in the Price Checks forum in the MM. But I'm sure you'll be able to find an average price by searching through the For Sale forum.

I would not bother with 2nd hand sa its usually only 10 / 15% cheaper... just grab an oem copy from oc..
