Snow: Anyone know about the A1 south bound between Doncaster and Newark?

Overturned lorry between Grantham and Colsterworth. A1 closed in both directions for recovery with very large queues building (Grantham to Stamford static Northbound).

HA says it should re-open around 11:30.

I was stuck from 8:30 to 9:30 and turned round to come home as I didnt even make it onto the main carriageway. When I left it people were turning around and heading the wrong way on the hard shoulder to get to an exit.

My staff were unable to get in from Lincoln via A1 today too.

Need to go to centre parcs!

Dont bother I live about 2 miles from Clumber Park which is on the road upto Centre Parcs from the A1 and short of it being an emergency buddy its just not worth the risk.

It is really dangerous.

ok thanks I was wondering about that road. It is not a flat one. and where I live no griiting done...

why would you want to go to Center Parcs in this lot anyway ?

I went a couple of weeks ago, admittedly it wasn't snowing but it did rain for 3 days. It was awesome, we had one of the executive villas with a sauna, steam room and hot tub.

It's all about the rapids

Mate I was heading to see a friend last night from Leeds to Doncaster around 10PM! Never ever being so scared for my life, was horrendous took me over 2 hours, kept getting stuck behind lorries on the slip roads :( :( Saw the lorrie on the southbound tip over and 2 were suck with massive tail back, simply avoid South Yorkshire, I am stuck here now as all the roads and motorways are shut. Not good.

Quite scary with huge lorries snaking all over and I am in a small 182

ok well if it was that bad yesterday, I can't think of today's driving conditions, even though it stopped snowing here, it is snowing in Sherwood forest. Even I I can make I am working on thursday morning so driving back tomorrow would be pretty scary and suicidal I reckon
