My settings are maxed out with V-Sync on and I took them withg Fraps, if that makes any difference. 1920 x 1080:)

thanks man :)

Good god im terrible at this game, some guy just had 92-5 k/d on a rush game and i dont think he was hacking, i juts find the defender team always is hugely overpowered and just not fun to play.

I find attacking much easier, my stats show this to.

Code:
Name Wins Loss W/L Ratio
Attacker 180 34 5.29
Defender 26 132 0.20

Depends on the map, a well organised defence (meaning 5-6 or so people out of 16) watching the mcoms can really screw up an attack. If the defenders are glory hunters and charge off out of the base to catch the attackers moving up then eventually the attackers will sneak one or two behind and before you know it outnumber the defenders.

Some maps the bottlenecks massively favour the defenders. Only thing to do is punch through and hope whoever's in your armour is good. Race against time. In these cases most time if you have a positive k/d ratio and your team lose then you've done something worng (unless you're very good).

**** me Im soo **** at this game, Im not bad at MW2 but this Im just getting a damn good arse kicking! How long does it take to get some better guns? Any tips available for newbies?

aside from one or two of the op guns just having the later guns wont help much.

Short bursts, don't spray, aim down the sights stand still/crouch when shooting.

It's not cod there's recoil ;)

Yea this isn't a game where you can go gun ho by yourself. You need to pick your way through a map carefully and anticipate your enemies. It's also a good to be part of a decent squad.

Could anyone let me know what sort of performance i should be getting on my rig (see sig). My res is 1680x1050 and i have the quality set to medium (low shadows and water in settings.ini) and i just about cling on to 40FPS. I was kinda disapointed with this (not had my GTX460 long) and was wondering if it was normal or if something was wrong?

Thanks

If your struggling, then most likely you are cpu bottlenecked.

I would have thought a GTX 460 OC should perform better than that especially at your resolution.

Its your cpu mate.

BFBC2 loves cores, and I hear can scale up to 8 threads.

What you need to do is find a game that is fine on a dual core, but will scale with gpu horse power, this will show you what your GTX 460 can do.
BFBC2 will only show you the limitations of your cpu im afraid.

strange my specs are worse and i can run it smooth maxed out at 1920x1080 apart from shadows at medium, is very smooth apart from large maps where my cpu drags it behind, but even then its around 30fps. Usually about 40-50 on small-med maps with less people.

Thanks. Are there any benchmarks I could run that would be a good indication of BC2 performance?

dx11 with this game was minaly about optimisiation (correct me if im wrong but thats what i read), for me it runs better in dx11 :s Plus a 460 oc should not have to lower settings, if your cpu bottlenecked it wont matter what you put at high and low. For me shadows is the only thing i have on medium.

Try and clock your E8400 a little higher.

Whilst BC2 will utilise more than 2 cores it really doesn't make the ridiculous difference people say.

I run at Max settings, DX 11, 4 AA @ 1080 with no problems on an E8400 @ 4.05Ghz

Goose should be able to play it pretty much okay with that setup, clock it to 4-4.2GHz and see if that improves things?

Yes it does, I went from dual to quad and used the same GPU and the difference was huge
