american lies

He said something like "Israel is corrupt, and needs a regime change" which the western media translated as "we will remove Israel from the map"

*EDIT*

This is what he actually said (when correctly translated and not taken out of context)

"the regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time"

but that is taken out of context as you have no idea if "vanish from the page of time" is an Iranian saying similar to the western "wiped off the face of the earth."

But it certainly has similar connotations.

So if there is confusion about the meaning and the context is it right that the western media tell us that Iran wants to wipe Israel of the planet?

Sorry I didn't realise that a month old constituted dead on this forum, it was on top when I did a search for the new wikileaks stuff so assumed it was current :S

How many civilians were killed in WW2?

That was a WAR its different (plus America dropped a nuclear bomb on a non military target because they knew the masisve civillian casualtys would help to finally crush Japans never surrender attitude), this was a liberation mission designed to end suffering, having only 20% of your kills be legitimate targets is very worrying.

Having never heard of "Wikileaks" before last week, I will continue to assume that they are not a credible source, whatever they are posting is junk and I will continue to ignore whatever message it is that they are trying to get across. To me they are just another stupid website trying to be sensationalist and for some reason they have had way too much exposure as a result.

Wikileaks have been around for years, this isn't the first time they have blown the whistle on secret things and I think the fact the US have acknowledged it as true and imprisoned the person who leaked the info kinda states to their authenticity. Hell some US higher ups have demanded the guy who leaked it be tried for treason and executed, along withthe founder of wikileaks :O

Is this a serious post. I have never heard of it so I reckon it must be a crock of ****. Don't bother to actually look into them at all, its best just to form opinions based on speculation and guesswork.

They are taken seriously because they have released a lot of sensitive documents in the past that have been confirmed to be real. The american government wouldn't give a monkeys if I created a website and started posting crap on there threatening to release confidential documents.

You may have missed it through your righteous indignation, but this is also a war.

Yes but it wasn't marketed as such was it? Iraq wasn't a war because that's bad it was a "liberation" and according to our governments the is no war going on in Afghanistan its just "peacekeeping"

Do you think that at the start of WWII it was "marketed" as us going to war, or as us going to liberate Europe from that tyrant with the silly 'tache?

Except all the information is reliably sourced.

The real question is whether any of that information is remotely interesting. Some is. Some really isn't.

Er, no I know it was, we told Hitler flat out invade Poland and we will declare war on you, he did so we did. We never declared war on Iraq/Afghanistan because the government wanted to maintain the image that it wasn't a war just a quick liberation and would be over soon.

Both the Iraq war (March 20, 2003 - August 31, 2010) and the War in Afghanistan (October 7, 2001 – present) have lasted longer than WW2, despite neither being publicly treated as a war by any government except the US (who called them wars on terrorism, not against the countries they were at war with)
