atm iv got a rampage ii extreme motherboard and using the SupremeFX X-Fi that comes with it for my sound card

i know most sound cards i will buy will need to go into 1 of the spare PCIe x16 slots
main reason i want new sound card is because my current headset broke

was using g35 usb headset it was great apart from falling off my head onto my chair and snapping 1 of the ear pieces off

i was thinking of getting Sennheiser PC 350 headset and because am paying so much for a headset i think it best to look into getting a soundcard so the price is worth it

any suggestions on headset and sound card would be great

it will be mainly for gaming

Soundcard = Asus Xonar DG.

Headset, Goldring dr150 or ns1000, with a clip on speedlink mic, if choosing the ns1000's a fiio e5 portable amp will help a lot.

But if you just want headset with built in mic the steelseries sibiria v2 are very good, prefer them to my senneiser pc166's.

Do be aware the Xonar DG is PCI only which may or may not be an issue depending on how many graphics cards you have.

Indeed I found that out! I was running 2 3870x2's in crossfire and could not use the card :( Fortunatly OcUK took it back unopened and I got the Xonar DX instead which is PCIe :D

i think i would have trouble fitting it into my rampage ii extreme motherboard think i would need to get Xonar DX instead any other suggestions for a headset?

NS1000 :D I have the DR150's and they are great on the Xonar DX but unfortunately the other half can hear everything lol.

So I have a set of NS1000 and an e5 arriving as soon as the postie stops whinging about a couple of flakes of snow........
