Ok so I'm thinking about getting either one of these tv's and need some help deciding which to get?

The Panasonic's I can get delivered with 5year warranty, but the LG I would probably order from the net without a 5year warranty.

I've heard tons of good news about the LG and seen it in person, the only downside is the reflective panel. The G20 sounds awesome but I've heard tons of bad little niggles about this set, and I definably would get annoyed by the buzzing which is quite a big problem with this set. The S20 sounds like an all rounder and I haven't heard any bad things about it, only that it is not as well spec'd as the other sets. The LG and G20 both have THX calibration which obviously is a big plus aswell.

Difficult descision, so if anyone can through in a bit of advice it would be much appreciated.cheers!

I've just plumped for the G20 (won't get it until Chrimbo though), but I can't justify a 50 inch set. If I could, it would be mighty close between that and the LG.

Few weeks past I was having the very same dilemma .... in the end I went with the LG 50PK590 and so far I can't fault it. Price for performance this is a superb TV and as for being reflective I honestly can't say Ive noticed anything when the TV is on, that said the windows are behind the TV set. You can still purchase this set with 5 year warranty for under £700.

See them all in person, they are all good sets - the LG being the most slick - I would have the P42G.

Go for the P42G20B, we have just bought one and the PQ is fantastic. Blu-Rays on this set are excellent.

Gaming is perfectly fine on it as well, make sure you put the game mode on and it makes a big difference. GT5 looks stunning on this set. There was a deal at a competitor for one of these with 5 Year warranty silly cheap last week. My advice, buy one now.

Game mode makes zero difference to input lag (which is a LOT lower than the laggy LG's), and that's about the only reason people use gaming mode as the post-processing is generally worth leaving on for PQ.

The LG's are meant to be pretty laggy for gaming (and have lip sync issues if you can't delay teh sound via your amp) which is what put me off them.

It is worth noting that you get some very nasty artifacts (posterisation, banding, magenta fringes) on 50hz signals, so for broadcast material and PAL 50hz signals in general it's not very good :(

Ok so its all for the G20 then? I never new the LG's had a lip sync issue, so thats a massive concern for me.

HHHhmmm I may go to that competitor after work one day this week and try and get a G20. I would have ordered one of these last week but there out of stock on the net from this particular store. Either way input lag isn't a massive issue to me as I'm not a massive gamer.

No lip sync issue here :)

I've got the LG50PK350 and there are no game lag issues whatsoever. I don't have a clue what people are banging on about to be honest. Between my Uni mates and I we have played an insane amount of Black Ops in the last few weeks and no one has noticed any sort of lag or lip sync issues (it is hooked up to a Hi-Fi system)

Personally have been looking for weeks and week I am looking for an LG 50PK590 and on all the samples I have looked at there has not been a lip sync issue unless using an older source (single example on an old non HD Sky box). Just need to convince the other half that I can get one today as there is a site with it on special offer today only for £549. Add in Quidco etc and it comes to under £500! (Need to add delivery however for £10)

Was supposed to wait til after new year but I may need to bring the plan forward.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that! Another £15 saving by buying now....

Think she will notice if I just abuse a credit card and it turns up? What are the chances of hiding a 50" Plasma?

Even worse, what are the chances they could even deliver in this weather!

I have a G20 and only found out about the buzzing issue when looking for the best display setting on AV forums. When I got home and listened, sure enough it was there, but I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. If you sit 3 feet away with no volume it might be a problem I suppose.

Just get one and enjoy it - the little niggles are only there if you go looking for them.

I also have this model, absolutley fine playing ps3 & bluray. Sound is through an AV reciever. Picture is fantastic.

Only issue is the reflective panel, however it isnt't a major issue for me & also on a high brightness picture...ie. white there is a buzzing noise, again with the surround sound on you do not hear this unless it is a part of the film with no sound at the same time!
