So as a type 1 diabetic im thinking of getting a small, but noticable tattoo on the inner wrist, wont be bigger than a £2 coin at most. As its a medical tattoo, i need to have it visabl, but work regulations state tattoos shouldnt be visable. Where do i stand on this, legaly?

Is this so you that in any situation people know of your condition?

I would think if the answer to this is yes than it would be OK, but if you want a 'I love Stoke City' I would say not:p.

common sense prevails here, I would hope that not for one moment would your HR department dispute your tattoo given its purpose.

Can't see how anyone here can speak for your work place...probabally best to ask the HR department as they will know the policy...

Wouldn't most people in your work place be aware of your condition anyway? therefore the tattoo not being visible at work isn't an issue.

True but he is asking specifically about his work place. Plus he will still have his bracelet. I just meant his tattoo having to be covered at work shouldn't really be an issue although cant imagine most companies will argue about it in the first place.

Because his workplace is the only place with the code that doesn't allow visable tattoos.
The op is asking if the company can legally stop him having it on show.

It still has to be visible when not in the work place. Which is why he's asking his original question. The answer to which is to ask his employers.
