Yeah Dude, i give it 8.5/10, excellent movie (decent story, very good acting , and awesome camera movements).

Still, City of God has more actions and better story; imo the benchmark for city Gang movies.

It's not really a quetion of corruption but a question of smuggling, the Trafficantes here have access to anything and everything including police uniforms and not just guns. In 2007/8 they raided an Army storage facility near Rio de Janeiro and made of with some pretty powerful stuff, needless to say thae Army didn't like it much and promptly "went and had a word about it"

City of god is more about life in a Favela though and not the police, where as Tropa de Elite is about BOPE-RJ and very close to real life.
