loopylou... disagree, It's not always about cost: I usually buy expensive brand clothes/shoes - quality vs price not always matching, same with shoes, got Zara shoes for £29.99 on sale, 2 years old now, and as new!
Had Louie Vuitton pair, lasted me less than year!

Then you should have got some expensive shoes from a proper boot/shoe maker - Churches, Barker, Jeffery West etc. I've had my Barkers for over 10 years :)

Get better fitting shoes. I have in excess of 40 pairs of shoes/boots, everything from walking boots to 5.5 inch platform heels. Not a single pair hurts my feet or gives me blisters. If they aren't comfortable then don't buy them! Strange to hear about people 'breaking in' shoes, I've never needed to.

Difficult to apply that theory to modern day living though. Since many of the things you buy now (phones, TV's, PC's etc) aren't 'future proof' regardless of how much you can afford to throw at them.
Tools, clothes, furniture, appliances, cleaning products, carpet, utensils... almost anything that isn't technology based :D

This is good news. I've got a pair of Barkers and just put them in to be re-heeled and re-soled. I've put a lot of miles on them and they're probably the most comfortable smart shoe I've ever owned.

New shoes should never hurt you, if they do then get some new ones. I've never had a pair hurt me and if I did I'd swap them. You wouldn't wear a pair of gloves that gave you pain, would you?
