I seem to have gone as far as I can go with my i7 920 D0, rest of my spec is in my sig.

Currenty at 3.8Ghz but temps are getting really high @87C max under prime.

My bios settings are as follows:

Ai Overclock Tuner.....................[Manual]
CPU Ratio Setting......................[21.0]
Intel(r) SpeedStep(tm) Tech............[Disabled]
Xtreme Phase Full Power Mode...........[Enabled]
BCLK Frequency.........................[181]
PCIE Frequency.........................[101]
DRAM Frequency.........................[DDR3-1451MHz]
UCLK Frequency.........................[Auto]
QPI Link Data Rate.....................[Auto]

CPU Voltage Control....................[Manual]
CPU Voltage............................[1.23125]
CPU PLL Voltage........................[Auto]
QPI/DRAM Core Voltage..................[Auto]

DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHA...........[Auto]
DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHA...........[Auto]
DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHB...........[Auto]
DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHB...........[Auto]
DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHC...........[Auto]
DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHC...........[Auto]

Load-Line Calibration..................[Enabled]
CPU Differential Amplitude.............[Auto]
CPU Clock Skew.........................[Auto]
CPU Spread Spectrum....................[Disabled]

Any advice on lowering these temps/increasing the overclock would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Try dropping you "CPU Ratio Setting......................[21.0]" to 20.0 and try upping your BCLK Frequency 3-5 at a time, run prime95 for 30mins if it's not stable then try upping the voltage a little a time n try prime95 til it's stable then up the BCLK Frequency and so on.

Wow those temps match mine but you have HyperThreading disabled...looks like you might need to re-seat your cooler. Also, enable SpeedStep and set multiplier to Auto (your max speed will still be 3.8 GHz).

Iv found a 20 to be much more unstable then 21. End up getting BSOD @3.8ghz.

Sorry that was a mistake, I do have HT enabled. I will try enabling speedstep and auto multiplier.

Well I reseated my cooler which didnt really make much difference.

1.225v is as low as iv managed to keep 3.8ghz stable. Are these temps too high?

Oh sorry, my mistake, I thought that you wanted to go higher than 3.8 :o

What are your room temps, ambient case temps, and temps on stock? What program are you using to read temps?

Well i would like to go higher but I dont fancy any higher temps then what I have now.

Room temp isnt all that warm, dont have a thermometer to test it though. Same with the case temp.

There is a decent airflow in the case, 3 inlet fans and 3 exhast. Taking the side panel off the case only reduces the cpu temp by a couple of degrees.

Im using Core Temp.

hmm, the fact that taking the side panel off reduces temps may indicate that cirulation isn't that great. In my setup and in a few setups I've seen, temps increase when side panel is removed.
