Anyone able to recommend a Freeview recorder box?

Looking for a nice user friendly box for my mum.

Bought the HITACHI 320HDR10 for my mum, but over the past two weeks shes experienced random hangs/glitches. eg: Picture freezes for a while, but the sound continues...

Was looking at the Humax boxes (eg: 9300) , but people suggest the recording isn't reliable.

So can anyone recomming a RELIABLE, and FRIENDLY box?

Worse case I'm tempted by the Digital Stream DHR8205. It's about £200 (a £100 more than I'd like to spend) but the reviews seem +ve and it's HD too!
 
Heard lots of good things about the humax boxes. Easy to use, stable etc... Not got one myself as I've got sky HD, but was considering a humax freesat box.

Hmm... I'll do a software update on my mums Hitachi, but I suspect it's upto date. Given its locking I need to change it... Just got no idea what model will be reliable instead :(
