I've never seen anything like them before, i googled time guard and the company seem to make a multitude of things, of which i couldn't find anything that looked like those on there. New house and new things to explore and all that :)

They are located in the airing cupboard along with the immersion tank and boiler controls etc

Looks like they control the times the connected equipment is powered. I.e. they turn their switches off when you program them to. Might be used with a boiler that doesn't have a control unit so you can specify when you want it to come on and off.

Timers for when your heating and hot water come on?

That's all done on the seperate control panel for the boiler (just below them, should have taken a picture of the whole lot really) Unless it's an addition to the current system that's there with the usual "off / timed / once / on" settings

This house hasn't been lived in for over a month, no hot water as we think the pipes have frozen >_<

Ahhhh thank you very much, didn't spot that when looking through their site.

I'm going to go and play with them now and see what i can make them do :p

I suspect you will be sorely disappointed. They don't look like there is any long term gameplay in them. They only have two or three controls and certainly no network play!

If I'm suddenly flung to the ceiling and looking out at glaring sunlight you're in deep doo doo mr :P

I do have another problem in that we have no hot water, infact no water comes out the hot water taps at all!

Earlier on i had the hot water on and after a while the over flow pipe from the thing in the attic started trickling out, as no ones been here in over a month our instinct was frozen pipes but now im not so sure as the house has warmed up significantly and still there's no hot water. Does anyone have any suggestions i could try? All pipes out of the tank in the airing cupboard are hot as hell so all the vales there are open.

:D I'll be sure to wear condoms on my feet and hands and a tin foil hat in case of unexpected occurrences

OP missed out on potential man points - just switch it off and see what happens/didn't happen/didn't work/broke.
Buttons are there for a reason - to be pressed.
