Hey,

I know some people here go to Plymouth, so hopefully someone might know.

I've been having problems setting up mail clients to access my email, such as Outlook 2010, Thunderbird and K9 mail for android.

The outlook web access address is webmail.plymouth.ac.uk, but that's as much as I know. I came across this website but it's quite old now and the settings don't seem to work.

Thanks

As someone who uses Plymouth Intranet, I wish I could help. Sadly I use the OWA on the site, and my iPhone when on the move, both of which work fine.

Gimme a sec, i'll try setting mine up on Outlook and see what happens.

Heh, that was an experience.

I tried doing it in Outlook 2010, which threw a hissy because it couldn't connect, and then refused to start up again because "I can't connect".

Useless piece of junk.

I'd give it a go on my Macbook, but I don't have it here with me.

They don't provide any connection info on the website.

This is as far as I can get with outlook.

That's exactly what I get, but it closes the program rather than giving me the option to change settings.

Now I remember why I don't bother using it! :p

benjo, on that page you have screenshotted above, before clicking next, click More Settings, goto Advanced tab, and underneath where it shows port 110, tick the box to use SSL which should change it to 995 or something, select TLS for security type

Then try connect

You will need to use HTTP(s) connection with Outlook as it defaults to using MAPI which you obviously don't have access to, setting it up to use HTTP(s) will push it through the OWA/ActiveSync server, however you still need to know the settings unless you can guess.

Have you tried asking the weird people in that room in Babbage that sit there all day playing Worms? :p
