More civil disobedience in Oxford Street

It is still higher than other European countries.

And all those countries are as desirable a business location as the UK with comparable or better transparency, legal frameworks, access to markets, access to suitable labour, infrastructure and clustering of expertise? Didn't think so.

Maybe we should look at that too. Swiss secrecy laws make it illegal for employees to inform the police if their employer is doing something wrong. Our transparency laws are driving British companies abroad!!

Germany seems to be doing OK to me.

The flat rate is 15%.

Which nobody pays because the effective rate is much higher. Anyway, I only wanted to make a point that we're a top location for business. Our economy has it's strengths and weaknesses as does Germany's. Both are very strong economies in the scheme of things.

isn't Ireland around 12.5% business tax? You have to balance the two out but a tax rate of around 17.5-18.5% would be a more realistic proposition in my mind. Yes you are losing out on tax on current companies but the UK is still (despite being a hell hole) an overall desirable place to live and base your business. Would attract a lot more business which currently goes elsewhere.
