ocuk sytems - roughly how long to deliver

from the bottom of the pre-built system pages,

*Please allow between 24 and 48 hours for your system to be built and configured. This may take longer during busier periods.

Then the delivery time, taking into account the snow.

2-3 days currently to build the system (subject to everthing being in stock) and then another day for delivery (subject to snow at the mo)

It may also come down to whether any of your items were awaiting stock, lord knows the motherboard I wanted has been out of stock forevermore.
I'd say with the snow, you'll be looking at 3 days for the build and maybe another 2 for delivery. Still, that's less than a week to have a PC buit for you and handed to your house, I'd call that modern convinience!

Hey i ordered my pc on the Monday night and got it on the Thursday morning (this week), i rang them up a couple of times and they where more than willing to have a look how far through the build process it was and how long it would be.

My building is probably going to take about 3 days, on the kitchen table, with some very annoyed housemates :P Not built one before and only a vague idea of what to do, but I consider it a skill worth learning.

Well aren't you Mr Big Head this evening. (2 or 3 hours is quite a long time if you know what you're doing) :o

I know, does he know anything? I built my first ever build in 2-3 hours!

Maybe ocuk want to hire me eh

It won't take you 3 days, watch a few videos on youtube before the gear arrives, it should only take 3 days if something goes wrong and it wont boot :p

It's not the building.. that's just a meccano set. The software install will be scripted too. It is the burn in and testing which takes the time and with overclocks, there is always a lot of testing. Standard builds should be fast-tracked and go out the door quicker but a backlog is a backlog and now we have the Christmas rush to add to the queue.

You're better off buying the parts and doing it yourself and learning along the way.

3 days to build a pc....i can build one in two or three hours!

You clearly don't know how a business works.
You think the OCUK staff are just sitting there with no work, no meetings, no.....well anything to do, with all the parts in front of them waiting for your order?
It will take them a few hours to build it but they don't have a single worker employed for your build.

i think i do know how a business works as i own my own business, not in computers but in engineering, but then business is business.at the end of the day it`s about making money and the more you produce at the end of the week is how you earn it.more production more profit= more money.
come on overclockers pull your fingers out!.....lol.
