Hey,

I need a new headset for my PC as mine is starting to crack.

I currently have a onboard sound card so may wish to purchase a new one as well.

I am looking to get a good set of headphones, around £80. I was wondering if I would need to upgrade my sound card to get the best out of them. I use it for voip and music. I don't play games on my PC that require sound, no FPS for example. Only really play wow and other games like that.

I wonder if anybody can suggest a pair of headset, and if required, a decent sound card to go with it.

Thanks in advance,

Easy one. Goldring NS1000 headphones and a Xonar DG sound card, and possibly a FiiO E5 headphone amplifier. I bet nobody saw another Goldring recommendation coming. :p

wait a sec, for music, I would have throught a DX + E5+ goldring NS1000 would be slightly better( more expesnive too)

Need it for voip to, I will need a mic

which do you want headphones or headsets, thats why people said goldring NS1000

just a cheap clip on mic would do you nicly unless you want a headset

there are decent headsets around

I ve found 4 so far

siberia V2 and 7H
razor ( can't spell the name)
and sanns PC350-360

but I m guessing those goldrings would blow most clear out the water.

opps.... I need a headset.

siberia V2 for headset wise, they seem to be good as I've been looking at reviews lately to replace my Gamecon 377's.

However I'm not too sure how they will be with bass, I've found a lot of headphones lack a nice bass as its usually very shallow or muffled. Nothing that vibrates ur head a bit which is what I'm kind of looking for now.

your best off with creative than, as they rumble, I don't like headsets or phones that do that. as it hides other detials. for example footsets

the sibera V2 is a very well balanced headset for £55 they are very good value as well I don't own them I m still hoovering over the buy button but I am for the razors as well.

these was only selected by reviews.

Screw the headset and get the ns1000s !
I wasn't sure as well but once you put them on you'll notice that it was one of the beset choices in your life ;) .
