Hi all,

Wondered if you could help, or more specifically Lashout :p

Want to insure a car for a day that was made and registered in 1991, I tried day insure but they don't cover cars over 15 years old which is a tad annoying...

Any other suggestions? :)

Cheers,
Jake

Do you have a current insurance policy? If so could you not just ask them what it would cost to add the car for a day? They may of course not be interested but you're no worse off in that situation than you are now.

I'm afraid I don't, no. :)

RAC and Aviva both use day insures quote system so won't work, tempcover didn't work for one reason or another. Cheers anyway!

I dont think any of them offer this any more for older cars.
Your best bet would be to take out a full policy and cancel it within a few days, will probably cost you £20 - £30.

£43 for 1 days cover? Is there really any situation where this is good value? Why not ask a relative to call their insurance company and cover themselves. It will be cheaper even by the time you have given them £20 for their troubles.

Because then I'd need to pay for 2 persons train tickets etc :)

I only need to get it home then a week later I'll take out a policy on it. Good value or not, it'll do :)

HPI it with hpicheck.com, think its like 20 quid?

they chuck in driveaway insurance then, basically free 7 days cover on said vehicle.

CLICKY

obvi terms n conditions apply, best check them out.

fonzee thats epic :D - Cheers :) - Any ideas if it includes breakdown cover? just incase?

*goes off to have a nosey.

Under some circumstances an annual quotation cannot be offered, e.g. if you are under 21 years of age or your car is ten years old or more, which means that a Driveaway Insurance policy will not be available to you.

ah balls :(

still, handy to know in the future.
