Did you look at social gaming titles such as FarmVille?We did, but we don't include it in the programme, simply because we thought it was too much to get into. There are some court cases going with FarmVille as well, and we didn't want to get bogged down with those issues. But also because we thought social gaming didn't quite touch on the area that we were looking at. Although FarmVille and games like it can be quite compulsive addictive, they don't have the same MMORG type features.

Just had a text off a mate 'Are you going to the midnight release' meaning world of warcraft cataclysm. Felt ironic replying 'no i will be watching a panorama special on is gaming addictive'.

Wonder if it is being aired on purpose 2 hours before the release of the warcraft expansion with wow probably being the most famous game associated to game addiction!
 
saw a clip of this on the bbc news channel earlier, will watch it but laugh at the ridiculous statistics they will make up and extreme individuals they will brand as the norm...

It must be coinciding on purpose. I can just imagine parents watching it in the evening then realising their kids are going to some midnight opening and will be playing through the night. A lot of internet cables being unplugged tonight methinks.
 
I dislike how they are pretty much out on the pro addiction wagon rather than a neutral standpoint. I thought panorama could be better than this.
